The Griffith Agency Story

Our story begins in 1910. Girard, Ohio was a bustling little steel town and Isaac “Ike” Griffith, a successful United States Fidelity and Guaranty Company agent who served as councilman and city treasurer for Girard, had an appreciation for his hometown and wanted to give back to his community that left a positive impact on people’s lives.
With his knowledge of insurance and a willingness and drive to help families and businesses prosper, he established The Griffith Agency, a family-owned insurance agency on a mission to provide the best insurance and best service for its customers.

Isaac’s three sons, George, Robert, and John, joined the insurance agency after attending college and serving as officers in different branches of the U.S. Armed Forces during World War II. In 1975, Robert’s son, Robert Griffith Jr., joined The Griffith Agency, marking a historic transition to the third generation of Griffiths. Robert became owner and president in 1983 and was joined by his wife Marcy, who served as Treasurer and Secretary, and helped run the office.

Like grandfather and father, Robert Griffith Jr. aspired that one day his children would take over the family business and proudly continue the tradition of helping people insure what matters most to them. Today, his children, the fourth generation of Griffiths, Bob, Meghan, and Ryan, carry the torch. They provide residents and businesses with the best insurance and service, just as their great grandfather set out to achieve more than 110 years ago.
